Dear Zoe

This week we were reading from the journal I kept about you when you were a baby, during Mommy Time.

Mommy Time is 30 or so minutes a day when we play a fun game together or go on a walk or do some art. The point of Mommy Time is the two of us doing something fun together.

You still want to be a baby sometimes. I wonder if it is because, in someways, you have grown up so fast. You are only 9 years old but you do high school level school work, you write stories, you're on Facebook, you Skype. Or, maybe it is just you. You were never that independent. That is not a bad thing.

Your daddy and I want to encourage to do things on your own so that you will feel confident and have skills. But we both understand that our time with you as a child is short and we don't want to rush through it.

Right now you want me to read to you some of your baby books again, to reminisce on how you used to like them. You're a sweet little girl.

Love,
Your Mommy
